thanks to the glamorous location shots and perfectly coiffed cast of ‘The City’.

We wish we weren’t so smitten with this far-from-reality show.

There goes our New Year’s resolution to take it easy on the tv watching.

But at least we watch ‘The City’ with purpose. The trendspotting is sooo much better the on ‘The Hills‘. Episode 3 was all about the love or lack thereof. Whitney gets the apartment that Jay found for her. Olivia so generously fears that this may cause an unhealthy emotional attachment…to the apartment. Erin (the ‘real’ friend) is in love and proudly declares it while Whitney wistfully stares off into space, no doubt pondering her yet-to-be-defined thing with Jay.

blah blah blah. Let’s talk fashion. Specifically the downtown hip zipper pants Erin was sporting in the awkward threes-a-crowd scene that opened up last night’s episode of ‘The City’.

Season 4 of “The Hills” has reached its end and in my opinion it wasn’t a very exciting season. I would’ve love to see more drama between Lauren and Heidi, than seeing Audrina fight Lauren over “Justin Bobby”. But lets move on to more important stuff – Lauren’s dress! At the season finale party of “The Hills”, Lauren showed up with a sexy new hairdo and a knockout dress.

Audrina Patridge, the current black sheep of The Hills, will co-design a line of jeans for Divine Rights of Denim debuting in November. She’s also going to the face (read: the T&A) of the collection. Heidi, Lauren, and Whitney all have their own collections or collaborations so frankly it was only a matter of time. But unlike Lauren and Whitney’s pricey (read: boring) collections, Audrina’s denim collab should be priced for These Economic Times.

Lauren Conrad wore it at the 2008 MTV Movie Awards.
