Beauty Review: Cleansing Cloths

Monday December 10, 2007 by Konstantina

I’ve tried several cleansing cloths, and I’ve experienced the same problem with all of them; dry skin! Some cloths are too moist and soapy making your eyes and skin feel itchy, and other are too dry, which defeats the purpose of a wet cleansing cloth. Now, I’ve found the Garnier Nutritioniste Nutri-Pure Detoxifying Wet Cleansing Towelette, and I’m 100% satisfied. My skin doesn’t get dry, it reduced my redness and my skin feels super clean after a day’s worth of make-up. Currently the towelettes come with a free sample of Garnier’s Nutritioniste Skin Revew, which daily regenerates your skin providing you with a soft base for make-up. The Garnier Nutritioniste Nutri-Pure Detoxifying Wet Cleansing Towelette is $5.99 and can be found at most drug stores and supermarket make-up aisles.

Editor’s Update!

Find Garnier Nutritioniste Nutri-Pure Detoxifying Wet Cleansing Towelettes at drugstore.com. ($5.99) It’s worth a click to check out their holiday products and save yourself the hassle of fighting through the holiday crowds to get your beauty basics!

likeWise beauty: beauty cures for skin that’s had too much sun

Thursday July 12, 2007 by EditorJacquie

Hopefully you’re past the point where you sunbathe with baby oil. Sunscreen is essential, ’nuff said.

I had a little vacay over the July 4th holiday. No laptop, lots of sun. Sadly, my beautiful glow is fading fast under the florescent lights of corporate life. I’m trying to keep it up with Jergen’s Natural Glow. Back in my SheFinds.com days I tested every beauty bronzer under the sun, this is still my fave.

Minimize after-sun peeling with Clinique After-Sun Rescue Balm or Sephora’s brand Sephora SuperStars - Super Soothing After-Sun Gel.

Outdoor ball games, trips to the beach, and vacation time can do some damage to your face. Your best beauty bet is to exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate. My pick is Peter Thomas Roth Sulfur Cooling Masque. It does amazing things to get rid of dead skin cells. It’s also great for oily skin and clogged pores causing blemishes, a common summer skin problem.

For hydration and tan preservation, Clarins Spray After Sun Shimmer Oil has soothing calendula.

Ever wonder how celebs seem to shimmer on the red carpet? Forget glitter, it’s all about iridescent micro-flakes. Clarins Spray After Sun Shimmer Oil will give you a five-star celebrity glow.

likewise beauty: summer hair styles & Sexy Katherine McPhee

Tuesday June 12, 2007 by EditorJacquie

I started using Sexy Hair® products about a year ago when I got sent samples to review. I’m hooked. They’ve got a line for every hair type and every time a glossy mag does a hair feature I always see a Sexy Hair product recommended. It’s good stuff.

This month Sexy Hair® spokeswoman Katherine McPhee is on the cover of Lucky magazine. Inside her cover shoot they go on and on about her hair…who wouldn’t want that shiny, thick mane?! The folks at Sexy Hair hooked us up with a sexy summer hairstyle trend. It’s a totally wearable style for summer events or beachy afternoons. Check out the steps below with Katherine McPhee.

You can get this look with only two Sexy Hair products: Big Sexy Hair What A Tease and Silky Sexy Hair Frizz Eliminator No Frizz.

SEXY HAIR® SUMMER STYLE TREND

Step 1

Take a large section off of your natural part and French braid the hair down to behind the ear. Secure braid into place.

Step 2

Repeat on opposite side and secure braid behind the ear.

Step 3

Select a back section and comb hair straight up just behind the braid and gently backcomb at base. Use Big Sexy Hair What A Tease on dry hair for even more height.

Step 4

To smooth the hair in back, work a pea sized amount of Silky Sexy Hair Frizz Eliminator into ends and then finger through the hair.

Step 5

“Final Look” We sort of hate her because she’s so pretty. But at least we can get sexy summer hair…
