This Season is usually a time of corsages, lace and kitschy white limousines. No matter if you’re attending your first dance, watching your friends pair off, or holding onto your daughter’s last days as your little girl, indulgence in fashion is key to getting through all of lives springing moments.

Prom: When I think of my prom one word comes to mind. Re-do! Redo the dress, the shoes, and yes, my ruffle-cummerbund-wearing date. These days the little urban birdies, fashionistas and socialites parade around town in heavy jewels and chains that mirror their rock star lifestyles. Spring jewelry styles call for something more delicate, an ounce more peaceful and a wee bit more affordable. This past weekend I revisited my childhood nightmare of ghostly bowling pins and bomb–like balls. Feeling down after the folks at Harlem Lanes laughed at my succession of gutter balls, I went to sulking in the corner of video games. I ended up finding a long lost friend, the toy crane and his cousin, the ‘engagement- ring- in- an- egg- for- a- quarter’ machine.
