Random & (kinda) Fabulous

Monday January 5, 2009 by EditorJacquie

As seen on SheFinds.com:
Gain a few extra lbs over the holidays? There’s a gadget that can stretch your pants for you but we’re in favor of the old fashioned method of watching the sweets and throwing in a little exercise to the daily routine.

kfed.jpgAs seen on The Cut:

Kevin Federline is a such a great baby-daddy

that he’s going to bless us with a line of kid’s stuff (PIMP cup not included…that we know of).

Well, he did win a Father of the Year award.

Lastly…tonight brings us a plethora of fab tv!
We’ll be in our sweats watching The Bachelor while setting the DVR for commercial-free Gossip Girl consumption. Apparently there’s some salvation for Chuck on the horizon.

And don’t forget The City on MTV!
We expect poor Whitney to continue her uptown/downtown identity crisis while learning more UES vocab from “social” Olivia.

Perfect Gifts for The Person Who Has EVERYTHING!

Wednesday December 17, 2008 by EditorJacquie

What do you get the person who has everything?

How about the experience of a lifetime? Or a piece of history? What if your gift could benefit more than just the recipient?
charityfolks.com logo the place to get a gift for the person who has everything

I discovered a fabulous website: charityfolks.com. It’s an online auction site with unbelievable items to bid on, all benefiting hundreds of different foundations and charitable organizations.

You can bid on everything from walk-on roles on your favorite TV shows to autographed sports memorabilia. Have lunch with cast members of Lost or Heroes. Take a stroll around the Upper East Side set of Gossip Girl and meet the cast. Take a VIP trip to the Indy 500 and hang out in the pits.

Charity Folks offers experiences and items that are one-of-a-kind, the perfect gift for the person who has everything. And there’s items for different budgets, whether you want to spend $70 or $2700!

Random & Fabulous: Spring Awakening

Thursday October 9, 2008 by EditorJacquie

springawakeningbroadway.JPG
I have a tendency to obsess. These days I’m obsessing over plaid, politics, and a play.

One of the saddest consequences of my relocation from NYC to San Francisco is that I have to wait for National Tours to see Broadway shows. But let me tell you, Spring Awakening was worth the wait. It’s that kind of performance where you can live inside the art for awhile. It gets under your skin and frankly, it’s a wonderful way to cope with reality.

I encourage you to splurge on tickets to the first National Tour (or on Broadway in you’re near the city). At the very least, check out the soundtrack on iTunes.

the like list: fashion finds we like this week

Monday June 25, 2007 by EditorJacquie

Every Monday Style Editor Jacquie shares her must-have fashion finds. (Or Friday if it’s been a looong week.)

We love shopping and our likes are fickle so we bring you fab fashion finds every week.

Fresh Fashion:
I’m keeping style easy and breezy this week with a satin trim tank from Parameter. Pair it with shorts or jeans, throw on a cardigan or cropped hoodie for chillier climes. Wear this satin tank under a blazer at the office.

Parameter Grey Satin Trim Tank ($89) available at Bluefly

Check out our Bluefly Special…a shopping guide to summer trends available at Bluefly.com.

Cool Jewels:
Never thought I’d recommend jewelry from Kohl’s but I do think of accessories as something to purchase often to shake up your wardrobe. So sometimes a trip to Claire’s, Forever 21, or in this Kohls.com is totally justified.
cheap silver butterfly necklace discount butterfly pendant necklace Shop Kohls.com and pick up this butterfly pendant necklace on sale for $14.

Cheap & Chic Fashion Score:
cheap Roxy handbag discount roxy handbag
This handbag by Roxy with it’s little wooden handle thingys is the perfect purse to sling around your shoulder at outdoor concerts and ballgames. Why? I dunno. But it works for me, I have it in army green.
Roxy ‘cambria’ handbag only $16.77 now at Amazon.com.

Shoe Shine:
Navy blue can be such a classy shade when worn appropriately. I like these Michael Kors wedges because they’ve got height, a little nautical flair, and are under $100 at Zappos.

MICHAEL Michael Kors Seaside Sandal $92.95

*Random & Fabulous*
Elephants are the animal of Summer ‘07. I’m not joking- I’ve seen prints, pendants, and and all sorts of merchandise decorated with pachyderms. This high-end cosmetic case is a trendy way to store your beauty products.

Newsworthy: Gaming For Fashionistas Only

Thursday June 14, 2007 by Konstantina

Hey all you fashion lovers! Have you ever wanted to create your own clothing store with everything that comes with it…mannequins, registers, floor racks, etc.? Ever wondered what your dream clothing line would look like? Well, thanks to H&M and Electronic Arts (EA) you’ll be able to do just that.

H&M and The Sims team up for a new fashion computer game

The partnership between one of the world’s most popular computer games and the mega-fashion retailer will be released in June, inviting players to create their own store, add registers, fitting rooms, and dress their own mannequins using replica garments from H&M’s Summer Collection. The stuff pack also includes The Sims 2 H&M Fashion Runway Showcase which will allow players to create their own outfits for six themes in an online virtual runway. Every week, the 12 best entries will be featured in the Fashion Runway Showcase, which will be determined by the public online. The Sims 2 H&M Fashion Stuff Pack will be sold through EA’s online website and in EA stores, but not at H&M stores.
